At Least 32 Dead In Hirakhand Tragedy
The latest update, now reveals that at least 32 people were killed and over 100 were believed to be injured after nine coaches of Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express derailed in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. The officials said the same today and confirmed that the accident took place in the early hours of the day and it took time for the officials to reach the accident place to begin the relief works. The incident took place around 11 pm yesterday when the train was on its way to Bhubaneswar from Jagdalpur. The railway ministry also confirmed the same.
“Condolences to families who lost their loved ones.Our hospital & helicopter is ready in Jagdalpur for emergency. Our team has left from Chhattisgarh for the spot. Necessary help will be provided.” said CM Raman Singh on Hirakhand Express derailment. Services were affected on Rayagada and Vijayanagaram route, with at least seven trains cancelled and 8 others diverted. “My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones due to the derailment of Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Express.
